Dr Jason Fangusaro

Jason Fangusaro, MD, is director of Developmental Therapeutics at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. He is a Professor of Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine and holds the Carter S. Martin Endowed Chair. He is trained as a Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist and Clinical Trialist. Dr. Fangusaro is a member of the Children's Oncology Group (COG) CNS Steering Committee and previously served has as the vice chair of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium (PBTC). Dr. Fangusaro's primary area of research is the development of early phase clinical trials, novel therapeutics, and relevant biologic correlates to improve survival outcomes and minimize toxicities. Within pediatric brain tumors, his research has focused on two main areas: pediatric low-grade gliomas (pLGG) and central nervous system (CNS) germ cell tumors (GCTs). He currently leads the pLGG International Coalition and is a member of the International CNS GCT Consensus Panel. Dr. Fangusaro is currently the co-Director of the International Response Assessment in Pediatric Neuro-Oncology (RAPNO). He leads many national NCI-sponsored, Investigator-Initiated, and pharma trials.
