Dr Mandeep Tamber

British Columbia Children's Hospital, Canada

Dr. Tamber is a pediatric neurosurgeon and PhD clinical epidemiologist at British Columbia Children's Hospital and the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He has a clinical interest in the surgical management of drug-resistant pediatric epilepsy, especially as it relates to childhood epilepsy caused by low-grade epilepsy-associated tumours, a context within which simultaneously achieving the dual goals of seizure freedom and maximal safe tumour resection whilst preserving neurological function can be challenging.

His background in study methodology and biostatistics supports his research interests in rare disease registries, quality improvement and knowledge translation research.  He has led the development of a prospective multi-centre Canadian pediatric epilepsy surgery registry, the aim of which is to characterize children with drug-resistant epilepsy and their diagnostic and treatment patterns, thereby helping to close critical knowledge gaps in the field.
