Dr. Marc Zuckermann obtained his PhD in Molecular Cancer Research at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in 2016. He then joined the laboratories of Prof. David Jones and Prof. Stefan Pfister, and is now a Group Leader at the DKFZ and the Hopp Children’s Cancer Center Heidelberg (KiTZ). His research focuses on utilizing faithful in vivo models of pediatric high-grade glioma (pHGG) to investigate multimodal treatment strategies. To this end, his group established a seminal cohort of immunocompetent mouse models that provided novel insights into the role of copy number alterations during tumorigenesis. By integrating targeted inhibitors with radiotherapy, his work identified synergistic combination regimens that are currently under clinical investigation. His current research aims to explore therapeutic interactions between radiotherapy, CAR-T cells, and lipid nanoparticle–based delivery approaches within his preclinical pHGG platform.
