Susan Holtzclaw

Susan Holtzclaw, ARNP, earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Mississippi State University before completing both her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Memphis. She began her nursing career at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, caring for children with solid and brain tumors.
Susan joined Seattle Children’s Hospital in 2011 as a nurse practitioner and currently serves on the Brain Tumor Team within the Cancer and Blood Disorders Center (CBDC). She provides specialized care for children with central nervous system tumors and also serves as the Associate Chief for Advanced Practice Providers (APP) for CBDC, where she supports divisional leadership, advances APP practice development, and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration.
Her research interests center on strengthening the role of advanced practice providers in pediatric neuro-oncology. She is an active member of the Advanced Practice Providers & Nurse Investigator Committee (APPNIC), a PNOC subcommittee dedicated to expanding access to clinical trials for children with brain tumors. Susan also has a particular interest in Seattle Children’s CNS CAR T-cell therapy program, helping advance innovative, targeted treatments with the goal of improving outcomes for children with CNS malignancies.
